About Madeline
Since 1988 I have worked in the various
capacities
of therapist, teacher, and facilitator. I have a Master's Degree in
Psychology with a focus on Counseling and Health Psychology from
Norwich College in Vermont. My Master’s thesis explored psychological
interventions in the treatment of breast cancer.
I am a clinical member of the Ontario Society of
Psychotherapists and have extensive training and experience in somatic
psychotherapy, sexuality and relationship issues, and the interface of
spirituality and psychology. I participate in regular professional
development opportunities and am engaged in ongoing professional
supervision.
Of recent note, this past year I completed my training as a Pathwork Helper which supports me to bring a combination of spiritual counseling, teaching and mentoring to my work. For the last year I have also been studying Somatic Experiencing, a body-centered approach to trauma healing. This summer's reading included the work of Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication and explorations in Energy Psychology.
As a member of the International Pathwork and as a Pathwork Helper,
I integrate
the
teachings and practices of the
Pathwork lectures into my work. The lectures offer a framework for
personal and spiritual transformation within a contemporary spiritual
context.
I live and work in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am a
spiritual
seeker, an active community member, and the mother of three children.
For my own renewal I seek silence and solitude in nature. I garden,
keep bees, am an avid outdoor enthusiast, and a world traveler.
