About Madeline's Work
Holistic psychotherapy can deepen the capacity for
self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-responsibility. In a holistic
psychotherapy approach the unique mental, emotional, physical and
spiritual aspects of each client are engaged and honoured.
Holistic psychotherapy is based on a model of wellness
rather than pathology. A holistic counseling model is client-centered.
The pace of the work, and the approaches used, are geared to the
authentic needs and rhythm of each client’s process. Holistic
psychotherapy attunes to both the personal and transpersonal dimensions
of the client. In holistic psychotherapy an eclectic mix of tools are
employed including cognitive therapy, somatic/body-centered
techniques, and time-honoured spiritual practices including
meditation, ritual, prayer, and silence.
The process of holistic psychotherapy is enhanced by
attuning to one’s conscious intention. Bringing all parts of oneself
together into a harmonious whole, one can more accurately know what one
wants. Through conscious intention, one is able to assess one's
innate intelligence, wisdom and capacities that may have been
previously dormant.
The goal of holistic psychotherapy is that each client,
with awareness and growth, can come to embody their full potential in
the
world.
